How do I use GoDaddy Studio as an identity verification app?
You can now use the GoDaddy Studio mobile app to verify your identity in cases where we notice unusual activity on your GoDaddy account and don’t consider your email and password alone to be enough security.
What is identity verification?
Identity verification is the process of proving your identity to gain access to a system or platform. It helps prevent unauthorized people from accessing your account.
When will I need to verify my identity?
You'll need to verify your identity when you sign in to your GoDaddy account and our systems detect an unusual risk. This means you won’t need to verify your identity every time you sign in to your account but only when there’s something that alerts our systems to a possible risk.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
Identity verification is crucial for protecting your personal information and preventing unauthorized access to your accounts. Think of it as an extra layer of security to keep your data safe.
How do I activate identity verification through the GoDaddy Studio app?
By default, if we have a phone number on record for you, your identity verification method will be SMS. If we don’t have a phone number for you, the default method will be your email address. You can then choose to replace either of these methods with verification through the Studio app.
As a new Studio customer, we’ll ask you to enable identity verification through the Studio mobile app when you first sign in to your GoDaddy account. If you choose not to enable this method, you’ll still be verified using your default method of either SMS or email.
As an existing customer, if you sign out of your GoDaddy account and sign in again, we’ll ask you to enable identity verification through the mobile app. Again, if you choose not to enable this method, you’ll continue to be verified through your default method.
Can I manually turn identity verification through the GoDaddy Studio app off or on?
In the GoDaddy Studio mobile app, you can manually enable or disable identity verification. If you disable it, you’ll still have identity verification through your default method, as explained in the previous question. To enable or disable identity verification through the app:
- In your GoDaddy Studio mobile app, tap your
profile. - Under MANAGE, tap Identity Verification.
- Switch the
Identity Verification toggle on (shows green) to enable verification through the app, or switch it off to disable it.
