GoDaddy smart terminal Catalog app release notes

We're always working behind the scenes to add new features and improvements to the Catalog app, which is used on GoDaddy smart terminals. Check out the latest updates below.

Your Catalog App automatically updates to the latest version available to you. You can also manually update your device by tapping Settings, then Software Updates, and then Check for Software Updates.

Register 3.3 Update: November 2024

ISBN and EAN fields
Values for ISBN and EAN can now be associated to your products, for product creation, scanning, and order checkout. When adding or editing a product, tap UPC (under Product Details), then tap UPC, ISBN or EAN in the drop-down menu.

Variant Display Order
Display order of variants during checkout in Register app and online store now matches the variant display order in the Catalog app and the Commerce web dashboard, to ensure intuitive and intentional ordering at checkout (for example: Small, Medum, Large).

UPC and SKUs for product variants have been do-coupled from parent product to ensure exact and correct product is scanned during checkout, and inventory is adjusted accordingly.

Catalog 3.2 Update: October 2024

In-person sales
An option to enable and disable which products are sold in-person has been added to the Catalog app. If the toggle is switched off, the product will not be visible in the Register app for in-person checkout; if your business supports online selling, it will still be available on this channel. If it's turned on, it will be available for in-person sales as well. Check out this article (Smart Terminal tab, Step 3) to learn how to activate and deactivate in-person sales.

New SaaS plans
New Saas plans were launched: The Point of Sale Plus plan, Invoicing and Pay Links Plus plan, and Basic Plan (Free trial). Merchants on Point of Sale Plus plans will have access to all capabilities for online and in-person selling, including online ordering, credit surcharge, inventory tracking and alerts, unlimited number of products, and reduced transaction fees.

For those on Basic plans, inventory management, tracking and alerts will not be available on Point of Sale.

Sale pricing
When a product is listed for sale, the same price will be applied to online and in-person purchases. Also, you will be able to see if an item is on sale and the original price.

Tax-rate number of decimals
Tax rate percentage or numeric value will now display up to 4 decimal places to support specific tax district rates. For example, when you create a new tax, you'll be able to enter numbers like 3.950%. This is supported on your POS as well as in your GoDaddy Payments Dashboard.

Catalog 3.0 Update: January 2024

Note: This update was made effective for new customers in January 2024. It will be released for other merchants later this year.

Variants and modifiers
Variants (e.g. size, color, combinations) and modifiers (e.g. add-ons, gift wrapping) are now supported when creating new products and during checkout. Learn how to add variants and modifiers.

Moving to a single, streamlined catalog
If you had multiple existing catalogs prior to January 2024, they will be merged into a single catalog that is accessible across your web browser, smart terminal and mobile app.
