Get the auth code for my domain
Get the authorization code for your domain before you transfer it to another company. Authorization codes (also known as auth code, EPP code, or transfer key) are unique for each domain and can be viewed in your GoDaddy account for domains eligible for transfer.
Note: Domains can't be transferred within 60 days of new registration, transfer, or contact info change if the current registrant opted to apply a 60–day lock when approving the changes.
- Sign in to your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio. (Need help logging in? Find your username or password.)
- Select the specific domain you'll be transferring.
- Select Transfer to Another Registrar under Transfer.
- If your domain isn't eligible, we'll show you a message with those details. You can still get your auth codes by exporting your domain info.
- Review the transfer checklist details. You don't need an auth code to transfer .uk domains to another company.
Important: Domain Privacy will be turned off after you complete the next step. This is to make sure your domain contact info is transferred to the new registrar. - Select Continue with transfer.
- If your domain has Domain Protection, you'll need to verify your identity. If you've had two-step verification (2SV) turned on for at least 24 hours, enter the code we sent via SMS, or enter the code from your authenticator app. Otherwise, enter the one-time password we sent to your registrant email address.
- Select Click here to see Authorization Code.
- Copy your auth code by selecting Copy to Clipboard. We'll also send an email with your auth code to the administrative email address on your domain name.
That's it! Now that you have the auth code, you can continue with your domain transfer at the new company. Select My Domains to go back to your list of domains.
