Approve my registrant contact updates
If your Domain Privacy is turned off and you changed the domain registrant organization, first or last name, or email address, you'll need to approve those changes. When Domain Privacy is turned on, changes made to your domain contact info don't need to be approved.
Select the tab that matches which contact field you updated.
When you change the registrant Email Address, we'll send an approval email to the current registrant email address listed on the domain and to the account email address if the two email addressess are different. You'll need to approve the changes through one of those emails, after which we'll send a final approval email to the updated email address.
- Locate and open the approval email we sent with the subject line Review and approve the domain registrant update.
- Select Review and Approve the Update and a new browser tab will open.
- Review the contact info updates to verify everything is correct.
- Choose your 60-Day Domain Transfer Lock settings:
- Lock domain transfers for 60 days: The domain won't be eligible for transfer to another registrar for 60 days.
- .au domains are not subject to the 60-day transfer lock.
- Do not lock domains transfers for 60 days: There are no restrictions on transfers to another registrar.
- Lock domain transfers for 60 days: The domain won't be eligible for transfer to another registrar for 60 days.
- Select Yes, Update Contact Information.
- A second approval email will now be sent to the new registrant email address with the subject line Approval needed: You're gaining one or more domains.
- Select Review and Approve the Update and a new browser tab will open.
- Review the contact info updates to verify everything is correct.
- Select Save.
The new contact info may take up to 90 minutes to show in your account and in the WHOIS directory.
