Install a Let's Encrypt certificate on your Web Hosting (cPanel) account

Let's Encrypt es un servicio de seguridad externo que ofrece certificados SSL gratuitos. Usar SSL (sigla en inglés para Seguridad de la capa de transporte) garantiza una conexión segura cuando los clientes visitan tu sitio web. Puedes usar un certificado Let's Encrypt en tu cuenta de Hosting Linux de GoDaddy, pero tendrás que configurar manualmente el certificado SSL.

Warning: Let's Encrypt certificates are only valid for 90 days. GoDaddy does not support auto-install on Web Hosting (cPanel) accounts, so you need to repeat this process every 90 days or your website will show a security error.
  1. Generate your certificate signing request (CSR). Let's Encrypt recommends generating your certificate through Certbot but this is not supported on GoDaddy's Web Hosting (cPanel). Instead, you will need to use a third party client to generate your Let's Encrypt certificate. GoDaddy and Let’s Encrypt do not control or review these third party clients and cannot guarantee their safety or reliability. You can find a list of available options under the Browser section.
  2. Verificar el dominio - Debes mostrar que eres el dueño de tu dominio a través de un proceso de verificación. El cliente externo que uses para generar el certificado te mostrará varias maneras para verificar tu dominio, te recomendamos que hagas la verificación de cargar el archivo o la actualización de DNS.
  3. Instala tu certificado y la clave privada en cPanel.
  4. Renueva tu certificado cada 90 días. Los certificados Let's Encrypt solo son válidos por 90 días por lo que tendrás que generar un certificado nuevo antes de que el otro se venza.
