GoDaddy Payments onboarding guide
GoDaddy Payments can help you sell anywhere and any way that you like – accept payments through your online store, over the phone, in person, and more. This guide will walk you through the end-to-end process of setting up your GoDaddy Payments account, exploring your Payments Dashboard, how to start transacting, and how to get paid out. You’ll also learn about reporting options and other troubleshooting help. Let’s dive in!

What is GoDaddy Payments?
- GoDaddy Payments is a payment gateway that enables your business to accept any major credit or debit cards. You’ll be able to sell both online and in-person:
- Collect payments online by connecting GoDaddy Payments to your website or online store, or create Online Pay Links to collect payments via social media, email, or texts.
- Collect payments in person with our Point-of-Sale devices, Tap to Pay and the GoDaddy mobile app.
- You’ll also be able to seamlessly link to your other GoDaddy products, like Websites + Marketing or Managed WooCommerce Stores.

- Note that GoDaddy Payments does not support some prohibited business types.
Set up GoDaddy Payments
Set up your GoDaddy Payments account and ensure your information is correct so you're ready to transact and receive payouts.
Actions to take:
- Most GoDaddy accounts come with GoDaddy Payments already enabled, so you can quickly begin accepting payments. To have your funds directly deposited into your bank account, make sure you connect a bank account and ensure your business information is updated. [Estimated time to complete: 10 minutes]

- If you’re using GoDaddy Payments to process transactions through your online store, you can also set up GoDaddy Payments directly through your Managed WordPress Ecommerce or your Websites + Marketing stores. [Estimated time to complete: 10 minutes]
Learn your way around

Start transacting
You’re now ready to start transacting! Learn about the different ways you can transact online with GoDaddy Payments, including Online Pay Links, Virtual Terminal, Invoicing and the GoDaddy mobile app. Learn about the processing fees associated with each transaction method here.
Online Pay Links: Pay Links let you accept payments from customers by creating and sharing a link with them — no website needed. You can share a Pay Link with your customers via social media, text, email and more. Actions to take:

Virtual Terminal: Virtual Terminal lets you manually process credit card payments from your web browser — no card reader, hardware, or special software needed. Actions to take:

Invoicing: Invoicing allows you to create and send invoices to your customers so you can get paid for your goods and services. Actions to take:

Mobile app: The GoDaddy mobile app allows you to process transactions through credit or debit card (tap, insert, or swipe), tap to pay (NFC), manual card entry, QR code or cash. Actions to take:

In Person Selling
Explore our Point-of-Sale device options or get set up if you’ve already purchased one.
GoDaddy Payments is only compatible with POS devices sold by GoDaddy – so if you want to process in-person payments with GoDaddy Payments, you’ll need to use a compatible device, like a GoDaddy smart terminal or GoDaddy Poynt Card Reader. If you’ve already purchased a POS device, learn how to get set up.

Get paid
Now that you’ve begun transacting, make sure you’re getting paid out correctly. Learn how to view your payouts and adjust your settings.
A payout is a collection of all transactions from the previous day (minus any refunds, chargebacks, transaction fees, payment holds and other adjustments) which is then deposited into your bank account.

GoDaddy Payments offers a variety of different reports to help you manage and organize your business. Learn what these reports are and how to access them.
GoDaddy Payments reports include all transactions processed through GoDaddy Payments. These are valuable in helping you understand your business as it grows.
