GoDaddy Conversations Help

Port my GoDaddy Conversations number to a different carrier

Looking to move your GoDaddy Conversations number to a different carrier? You can transfer your number if there's no outstanding balance on your GoDaddy account.

The steps for porting a local number and a toll-free number differ slightly.

Port a local number

  1. Request a Customer Service Record (CSR) and a porting PIN by emailing portout@vms.godaddy.com from the email address listed on your GoDaddy profile. In your email, include the Conversations number you want to port out.
  2. If you're not sure what the correct email address is, sign in to your GoDaddy account and find the email in your GoDaddy profile. Or, visit the Contact Us page to ask a GoDaddy Guide for help. If you don't send the email from the email we have on record, your request will be rejected. This is to prevent your phone number from being transferred without your consent.
  3. In 1 to 3 business days, we'll email you a port-out PIN and the CSR information that you'll need to provide to your new carrier.
  4. Submit a port request with your new carrier and give them the PIN.
  5. GoDaddy will work with the new carrier to approve the port-out request. Your new carrier will keep you updated on the progress—GoDaddy does not have visibility on the status of a port out.

Port a toll-free number

  1. Request a Customer Service Record (CSR) by emailing portout@vms.godaddy.com from the email listed on your GoDaddy profile. You'll provide this information to the new carrier.
  2. Submit a port request with your new carrier.
  3. GoDaddy will work with the new carrier to approve the port-out. Your new carrier will keep you updated on the progress—GoDaddy does not have visibility on the status of a port out.
Note: After porting your number, you can cancel your Conversations subscription if you’re no longer using it. If there’s a Websites + Marketing subscription linked to the number, you can cancel that too. You’ll lose access to your website when you do this.
