About .LIFE domains with GoDaddy

Identity Digital is GoDaddy's sponsor and backend provider for the .LIFE extension.

Who can register .LIFE domains?

Anyone can register .LIFE domains on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration restrictions

When registering a .LIFE domain, you must follow specific requirements.

  • Must use: 1-63 characters
  • Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 3rd or 4th characters of the domain name)
  • Cannot use: Special characters (e.g., & and #)
  • IDNs: Supported

Features

  • Registration length: 1-10 years
  • Renewal length: 1-10 years
    • Your .LIFE domain renews on its expiration date. If auto-renew is turned on, we'll attempt renewal on its expiration date. If the first renewal attempt fails and you do not manually renew, we'll park the domain.
    • If we cannot auto-renew the domain and you do not manually renew it by the 40th day after the expiration date, the domain will be canceled and removed from your account.
  • Backorders: Not supported
  • Transfers to GoDaddy: Supported
  • Transfers away from GoDaddy: Supported
  • Transfers to another GoDaddy account: Supported
  • Domain Privacy: Supported
  • Domain Protection: Not Supported
  • CashParking: Supported
  • Contact Updates: Supported
