Leaders of Change: Meet Arianna Merkes

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to join GoDaddy.

Hello! My name is Arianna and I’m part of the Workday HRIS Team here at GoDaddy. I was actually working for Life Time in their Compensation department for over 3 years when I knew I wanted to make the change into the Workday space. I was given that opportunity with another company. However, once I started there I knew in my heart that it was not the right long term fit for me. I saw that my old coworker from Life Time, Natalie Sires, had an opening on her team at GoDaddy. So, I reached out to learn more and I’m so glad that I did! Natalie had nothing but amazing things to say about her time at GoDaddy and I’m finding with each day that I’m here how true that is. I’m so grateful to be a part of my team and work for a company that truly cares about me as an individual and has given me numerous opportunities to learn and grow. I’ve only been at GoDaddy less than 1 year but cannot wait to see where this goes!

Tell us more about your team, and why job seekers should join you and your team.

My team is small but no task has been too large for us. We continuously collaborate to problem solve anything that gets thrown our way and make sure that no one ever feels overwhelmed or alone in the work that they have. We have opportunities to be leaders of change and growth which makes large impacts here at GoDaddy. We are a group of honest and dependable people and I would say our mantra is that we always aim to do the right thing, no matter what. You should join my team if you love collaboration, project management and receiving a good meme in the group Slack chat.

What real-life problems does your team solve?

What I love most about my team is how we get to be involved in so many different levels of questions/projects. We assist with questions all the way from “How do I view my Vacation time off balance in Workday?” to “Can you please immediately help look into this major issue that is impacting “X” amount of employees?” You truly never know what is going to get thrown your way in a single day!

What does it take to succeed on your team?

Honestly, just being a team player with a good attitude and willingness to learn.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love to travel, go to sports games (Go Pack Go!), go out on our boat and explore new breweries/wineries.
